Another overlooked gem. Telegrafbukta is a small sandy beach and nature area on the southernmost tip of the Island. Great for an afternoon walk as it offers views over the mountains on the mainland and the surrounding islands.Prestvannet
Often overlooked but worth a visit for a scenic walk and viewpoint not far from the city. Located on the top of the island Prestvannet offers views towards Tromsdaltinden and Kvaløya. In the summer it's great for an easy hike, in the winter it's a hub for ice skating and skiing.

Charlottenlund
Like sledding, skiing or frisbee golf? Then this is the place for you. A hub for locals skiing and sledding in the winter with nice views over the mountains.
Tromsøbadet is well worth a visit if you're looking to unwind after a Northern Lights Adventure. With saunas, steam rooms, an outdoor pool overlooking the mountains and even a cold water plunge pool for those daring enough.
Jekta
Not an attraction as such but if you need a shopping fix or to stock up on warm clothing you left at home, this is the place for you. -

Maskinverkstedet is a lovely restaurant located in an old workshop in the old harbour area of Tromsø. It offer Norwegian cuisine in a unique setting.
A firm favourite of ours. In my opinion this is the best sushi restaurant in town, always serving fresh fish and with plenty of vegetarian options also.

Oldervik is a picturesque village nestled along the rugged coastline. With its stunning fjord views and snow-capped mountains, Oldervik offers a tranquil escape into nature.
Take a drive up the road to Lyfjord, before you go through the tunnel, take a left to the viewpoint at the top of the old road. You'll be rewarded with an awesome view down the valley over the villages and on to the distant islands. After you've taken in the views, head through the tunnel and down onto the shore for more jaw dropping views.
Like dramatic scenery? Head inland and visit Laksvatn. Make sure to take your camera with you!
Only a short drive from the city. Easily accessible by bus also. Ersfjordbotn is a narrow fjord, flanked both sides by towering mountains. It's a must if you're in the area.
A favourite amongst locals, you should visit Grøtfjord for its gorgeous sandy beach. It looks like it belongs in the Caribbean!
Known for its idyllic white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and dramatic coastal landscapes, Sommarøy is a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Tøllefsenhjørnet in Tromsø, located in the old post office, is a charming café known for its delicious pastries, coffee, and friendly atmosphere. It also doubles as a wine bar at night if you fancy a glass (or two).
In our opinion, this cafe is one not to be missed. It's a firm favourite among locals and tourists alike. Located in an old fishing building on the end of the beautiful Ersfjord it offers fantastic coffee and snacks as well as a shop full of tempting local gifts.
